Bananatime!
Did you know that the banana plant not is a tree? It is actually the world's largest herb!
It is widely believed that the banana is a fruit. The banana itself is, according to different persons, a herb, a berry and a fruit. It's ranked as the world's most popular “fruit” and the big herb was found in the region of Malaysia.
Bananas grow in bunches and sometimes there is close on 200 bananas at one single tree. The total weight of all bananas in one tree can be nearly 50 kg!
I found some instructions on how to eat a banana and they are from the Domestic Cyclopaedia of Practical Information. The instruction reads as follows: "Bananas are eaten raw, either alone or cut in slices with sugar and cream, or wine and orange juice. They are also roasted, fried or boiled, and are made into fritters, preserves, and marmalades."
The website banana.com is telling the world how great bananas are. It tells how bananas can be medical used. Some examples of what the bananas, according to banana.com, will cure is: mornings sickness, heartburn, hangovers, depression, stress, PMS, strokes, mosquito bites and a lot more. It also tells how the banana helps us, students, with our brain power: “200 students at an English school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.”
I myself agree with banana.com and think that the banana is the best thing there was ever made!
